Spoiler: click to toggle that proves they are strong and possibly together stronger than piccolo, but on the basis of 1v1 doesn't prove much. Piccolo saw them charge in to save Majin Vegeta and didn't bat an eye in terms of power, I doubt they would have charged buu without their full power.

He couldn't have been surprised they were Super Saiyans, nor could he have been surprised they held such power at such an age as he'd seen them battle twice before and knew of Saiyan hybrid potential (Gohan).

Piccolo has felt the power of SS2 Teen Gohan and Majin Vegeta, surely the power if those to cant be that surprising?

Google Chrome	Piccolo's surprise at how strong Goten and Trunks are doesn't equate to him crapping his pants and thinking he could lose though... It's just an expression of surprise. It's possible that he could lose but I don't think you can take that from one facial expression haha. Personally I think Goten would win. I think I mentioned in another thread recently that Super 13 was only just about capable to take on a Super Saiyan. Any more than that and I think he's screwed.

At least at the time of sparring with Goten i dont. not sure how much progress he made by the time of the workd tournament.

That seems awfully close considering where Gohan stands.

Gohan honestly cant be any stronger than Goku was against cell at BEST considering his major decline. Also to thw others, Piccolo is well aware of saiyan potential and knowing that his power would not grow much more and pales in comparison to Buu's, hebstates the boys are the last hope.
